Senior Student Update
Hey everyone, as we get closer and closer to the end of the year I'm sure we're all aware how things can get a bit stressful leading up to exams for our senior students. The derived grade exams a few weeks ago should have given us all a good idea of how we are getting on with our learning, but we all must keep up the hard work right through to end of year exams.
Now is the time to fill in the gaps you missed in your practice exams and keep the things you got right fresh in your brain. To help us all prepare for exams, here are some of our senior students’ top study and exam tips:
- Create a Study Schedule: Organize your study sessions with a clear plan, setting specific goals for each session. Breaking tasks into manageable chunks helps make sure you don't get too fatigued and can get the most out of your study time.
- Active Learning: Engage with the material by summarising, teaching someone else, or practising problems. Active learning techniques reinforce understanding better than just reading notes over and over.
- Find a Suitable Environment: Choose a quiet, comfortable, and well-lit place to study, free from distractions. A dedicated study space helps improve focus and concentration so you can get the most out of your study sessions.
- Use Study Tools: Make sure to use tools such as flashcards, diagrams, and digital apps to make studying more interactive and retain information more effectively.
- Take Regular Breaks: Incorporate short breaks during long study sessions to rest your brain. Breaks refresh your mind, allowing you to maintain focus and retain information much better. Taking a 5-minute break every 30 minutes will make a huge difference.
- Look after yourself: The stress of exams can take a toll on your well-being so it is super important to give yourself a break and get outside, go for a walk, or do something you love, so you can feel good and try your best.
We wish everyone the best in their study and exams for the rest of the year. Keep up the good work!!

Parking at Social Services - CONSTRUCTION SITE
Just a little memo to ask everyone to please avoid parking in front of the social services construction area …. The builders and subbies need access to those parks - usually you will see the cones there, although sometimes they are not out quite early enough.
Please can we avoid parking in this space until the construction work has been complete.
Thank you very much.
MBAS Album Launch
Next week, we are excited to host the official launch of our latest school album, *MBAS '24 – In Resonance*! This marks our third album, recorded in collaboration with the award-winning producer Dave Rhodes, made possible through a grant from Creatives in Schools and the Ministry of Education. Featuring original compositions by our talented students, this year’s album is our biggest yet, with 20 incredible tracks. We look forward to celebrating with you all!
Primary Dance Show - A Reflection
My reflection from our first performance.
Ok I can do this, I can't mess this up.
We're lining up outside the hall, I was feeling really excited. Our line's moving. We walk into the hall and I say to myself "I didn't know there was this many people coming!" My class sat down, we were the first class in the hall, I sat next to Elise and Maria.
The first dance started, it was really cool then it finished and the clock started. I had an awkward smile on my face as I walked on stage, the music started and I started getting thoughts in my head. "What if I make a mistake? What if I trip or fall on someone and our dance becomes human dominoes." Then I realised the dance is over. I did it! I sit back down and had the best night of my life!
Ava Connell - Room 34
Below are Room 31 and Room 33 all dressed up and ready to go! See next week's Newsletter for more about the fabulous Primary Dance show.
